Activities

As an NGO, ELIS has extensive experience in managing complex projects of international aid concerning:

  • The development of the emerging private sector: support entrepreneurship development policy, with special attention to small and medium-seized enterprises (SMEs) and the creation of entrepreneurial networks;

 

  • Support to the microcredit: establishment and management of founds for the provision of loans for start-up entrepreneurial activities;

 

 

  • The empowerment of women: implementation of “empowerment” initiatives focused on the professional qualification for women, on support to women’s self-employment and entrepreneurship, on support to “gender mainstreaming” strategies;

 

  • Basic health and supporting initiatives in the health sector: implementation of programs of education and awareness on sanitation issues and capacity building activities for universities and public and private health facilities (in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Health and the Biomedical Campus of Rome);

 

  • The strengthening and reorganization of the Public Administration: planning, use and management of foreign aid, operational support to the start-up and operation of vocational training and college institutions;

 

  • Creating international partnerships: establishment of networks between organizations and public and private institutions in line with the statutory purposes, development of synergies between the "Public" and "Private" sectors. Strong in the experience gained from activities with high social content and from the privileged relationship with member companies to CONSEL - Consorzio ELIS, Associazione Centro ELIS volunteer as a partner in initiatives that combine the achievement of corporate profit, even through 'access to new and emerging markets, with the achievement of measurable and lasting benefits for the most disadvantaged populations;

 

  • Environment and local development:

    1. Support for mitigation actions on REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation);
    2. Support the sustainable management of natural resources with particular attention to the component of governance and the protection of biodiversity as an element of sustenance for local communities; 
    3. Pollution and protection of human health by promoting the green economy;
    4. Environmental Protection;
    5. Energy Policy;
    6. Sustainable local Development;
    7. Food security;
    8. Desertification and land degradation. Promote the environment as a key factor for sustainable local development.
